Don’t you just hate the times when you learn that someone who’s work you like or who you admired is actually not all that great? Scott Adams is a misogynist turd. John Lennon beat his wife. And so on. At least Terry Pratchett is a lovely human being. Plus that further cements Ringo as the best Beatle in my mind, I guess.

I hate that term “man flu”, it’s so fucking insulting.

Well, there’s some evidence to suggest that the male immune system is slightly weaker, so the same virus could cause a stronger illness in a man than a woman. Meaning that women don’t act like they’re tougher, they actually are, in that respect. Not that it’s proven or anything.

Still, gotta admit that big manly men being KO’d by a cold and acting all helpless is kinda funny. I don’t think I’ve had flu or anything that bad since I was a kid, though.

Got NO SYMPATHY today at work. Showed up with a little teensy cold. Dared to mention it and it’s “aww boo hoo manflu” etc. Excuse me it was NOT manflu, I showed up for work. Manflu is when you’re incapacitated by a common illness.
